Rainy and Foggy Forecast: White Plains Weather

It's shaping up to be a wet start to the month. We'll let you know what to expect as Mother's Day approaches.

According to the National Weather Service it could conceivably rain for the first eight days of May. If you enjoy the sun, too bad—you may not see it again for awhile.

That's the good news, given that it's been such a dry year so far.

"More welcome rain showers," said Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather, kicking off his morning forecast. "The work week starts out the same way the weekend ended."

Clouds and scattered showers are expected through the day on Monday. The heaviest rainfall is likely to fall north of I-84. Parts of the Catskills could see more than an inch of rain Monday, he predicted.

While the chance of rain then diminishes, skies will be mostly cloudy for the beginning of the month, and scattered showers are possible Wednesday through Friday.

More good news: We're having a cool spring, something residents of the lower Hudson Valley don't always see. Temperatures should stay in the mid-60s this week and in the 40s at night. Great for the flowers and flowering trees and shrubs!
