Registration Open for White Plains Summer Camps

The annual summer camp, hosted by the City of White Plains Recreation and Parks Department, runs from June 29 to August 7, and registration is now open, organizers announced.

The city’s summer day camps are open to residents and non-residents, and campers can expect a full schedule of fun and interesting activities, including art, sports, dance, swimming, trips, special events and more at Camp Panawok, Camp Quarropas and Teen Camp.

Registration forms can be downloaded from the city’s website. The completed forms and check must be submitted in person to the Recreation and Parks Department office at 85 Gedney Way during regular business hours.

New this year, if you are a White Plains resident, and you register your child for our day camp between May 26 and June 5, then you are eligible to receive a FREE Recreation & Parks ID card and/or renewal for the head of household and the camper. This summer the ID card will grant you free entrance to our Gardella Pool and our newly renovated Kittrell Pool.

Not only does our 2015 program feature more fun activities for your child but greater convenience for you. This summer we are introducing several new features with parents in mind. For the first time we will be accommodating a new camper age group: Camp Panawok will be accepting campers starting at age 4 (must turn 4 years old by June 29). Panawok campers will be age 4 years to entering 2nd grade; Quarropas campers will be entering 3rd to 5th grade; and Teen campers will be entering 6th to 9th grade.

Do you have vacation plans that make it difficult to commit to a two week session? “Camp Registration A La Carte” is another one of our new features. This will give you the flexibility to register for one week at a time for Camp Panawok and Camp Quarropas.

Our new flexible hours give you more time and give your child more fun! This year we will offer a ½ day option at Camp Panawok. Our full day programs will now be a 7 hour day. Early Bird and Extended Day options will continue to be offered.

Finally, because we understand the expenses associated with having children, we are making payment plans available to parents with an initial deposit.
