Sam’s of Gedney Way Presents A New Seasonal Restaurant!

The Great American BBQ “Shack”  (May  – October)

What is a BBQ Shack? Shack, Tent, Deck, call it what you want. The Great American BBQ Restaurant is outdoor dining under our tent on our deck next door to Sam’s of Gedney Way. And we share all of the amenities of Sam’s.

 We are continuing the tradition set by Sam himself who in his day serve slowly roasted meats carved daily. The Great American BBQ Co.  is the sister company to Sam’s catering backyard and corporate BBQ in the tri state area for the last 16 years which brings us to today.

Sample The Great American BBQ experience. We are a seasonal Modern BBQ Restaurant open from May - October only.  It all starts when you enter and dine under our tent “al fresco”. Tables are covered with navy blue linen and topped with white butcher paper. Red white and blue stars with “Edison” lighting hang from above. You are welcomed with our house made cheddar corn bread basket while deciding on your beverage choices of Local Craft Beers featuring Yonkers Brewery & Captain Lawrence. House made sangrias and margaritas, fresh lemonade and cold brew organic teas as well as a full bar selection. We locally source our meats and produce daily and seasonally. We also consider ourselves to be “BBQ Lite”. What we do is smoke all of our meats for a shorter period of time, not throughout the entire cooking time so it’s pleasing to the palate which reduces the taste of heavy smoke that tends to linger when you eat traditional bbq. All of our BBQ meats are rubbed with our own blend of seasoning and slowly roast for hours. We then lightly baste with our own house made bbq sauce. No heavy sauce here. We want you to taste the combination of the rub, the tender meat and the complex flavors of our sauce. Our bbq food is simple, straight forward and neatly served atop of a smoked wood plate. End your meal with red and yellow watermelon, classic strawberry shortcake or an ice scream Sunday. With 48 hours notice and a minimum of 15 people, you can have your own pig roast with us.  A 30lb suckling pig is slowly roasted on site and served with all of our famous sides. A takeout menu is also available as well as our catering menu with many options to choose from which is how The Great American BBQ Co began over 16 years ago.
