Settlement OK'd For Golfer Injured On Westchester Course

The payout was approved by the county Board of Legislators.

WHITE PLAINS, NY — A golfer who said his eyes were damaged by the spray from a high-powered sprinkler in 2014 at the county-owned Sprain Lake Golf Course will receive $70,000 in a settlement from Westchester County. Koji Kakinuma was hit in the face and eyes when a sprinkler went off without warning near the 12th tee box.

He has suffered hemorrhaging in his right eye, along with acute iritis and post-vitreous detachments since the incident, lohud.com said.

The county Board of Legislators OK’d the settlement Thursday.
