Should You Love It or List It?

It's based on the idea that homeowners decide between keeping their newly renovated home or buy a new home. Here are two examples.

You've probably seen the hit TV show "Love It or List It." It's based on the idea that homeowners have to decide between keeping their newly renovated home (the "Love It" part) or buy a new home and sell their current one (the "List It" part).

If you are thinking about renovating or selling your home, here's a "Love It or List It" strategy that we would like you to consider:

Use the experience of the Leogrande team to help you determine whether or not it makes sense for you to renovate your current home, or list it and find one which already has all the features you desire. We can show you recently-sold properties in your neighborhood, comparable in price, age, square footage and location. We can help you decide whether it's financially worth it for you to put the work into your current home. If you decide to list it, let us show you other properties that already meet the requirements of your dream home.

With renovations you have to be careful because some homeowners invest so much money into the upgrades that they have priced themselves out of their local market and won't ever get their money back.

If a renovation makes sense, we can advise you on how to renovate (intelligently) so you can enjoy your better-equipped home now and make it much easier to sell when you are ready.

We can also recommend renovation experts like Kent Johnsson, a terrific White Plains architect we have worked with who can open your eyes to the possibilities in your home and property.
