Showers to Sun Over the Work Week in White Plains

WHITE PLAINS, NY — Look forward to mild fall weather over the next five days, with the sun peeking through more and more often as the week progresses.

Much of the region will find the clouds, drizzles and showers end by midweek. Temperatures will even touch the 70s early and late in the week.

And it's not time yet to worry about Hurricane Matthew.

"We have several days before Matthew becomes a concern for our area, and conflicting information on exactly where he will head," says Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather.

Here's the National Weather Service's forecast for the work week for southern Westchester County:

• Today: Isolated showers between noon and 3pm, then scattered showers and thunderstorms after 3pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 72. North wind 3 to 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
• Tonight: Scattered showers and thunderstorms before midnight, then isolated showers between midnight and 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 55. Northeast wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
• Tuesday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 67. Northeast wind around 9 mph.
• Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 50. Northeast wind 5 to 7 mph.
• Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 67. Northeast wind around 9 mph.
• Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 51.
• Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 71.
• Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 54.
• Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 71.
