The New Rochelle High School seniors and second-year BOCES students win the contest's highest awards

Two video shorts produced by students in the SWBOCES TV/Video Production Program at the BOCES Center for Career Services in Valhalla were selected by The Lower Hudson Region Media Arts Teachers Association (NYSMATA) as President’s Award winners following the association’s recent Youth Media Arts Show.

The annual awards event, held at Westchester Community College, highlights exemplary work by high school students in the areas of photography, video, film, computer art, creative sound and other related media.

The winners, who are both seniors from New Rochelle High School, include Joseph Buccafusca, who submitted a piece titled, “Winter Blues,” and Will Savarese, who submitted “My Mistake,” which tells the story of a teen whose texting and driving habit leads to serious injury.
