Taleggio Italiano Classico Will Introduce Family Style Service on Saturday, January 24, 2015

Family style restaurants are rare today although Carmine’s and Tony’s Di Napoli appear to be successful examples of this concept in New York City.

Now Par Shakiban’s Taleggio Italian Classico will offer Westchester County customers an even rarer opportunity with the introduction of a ”fine-dining” family style menu. This takes place on Saturday, January 24, 2015, when Taleggio begins offering over-sized portions of most of the dishes on the current menu.

The appetites of four or even five people may be satisfied by ordering two appetizers and two main courses, General Manager Charles Amchir said, and options will be available for single diners or couples.

More seafood choices coming

One of the changes occurring, Amchir said, will be an increase in the number of seafood items offered. Red or white sangria will be offered by the pitcher.

The 180-seat restaurant opened 16 months ago. The restaurant is open seven days a week with lunch service beginning at noon each day and dinner service starting at 4 p.m. The kitchen closes at 10 p.m. on Monday through Thursday, and at 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Sunday closings vary; check with the restaurant.

Taleggio is the latest in a long series of restaurants founded by Par Shakiban that also includes Patisserie Salzburg of Scarsdale and Piatto Grill in Yorktown.

A recently opened municipal parking garage called Lyons Place is located directly in back of the restaurant. The parking fee is $1 per hour payable by cash or credit card and the garage is accessible 24 hours a day. The walk from the garage to the restaurant entrance requires only a few steps.
