It is so exciting to see the grass turning green, some buds beginning to form on the lilac bush outside my window, and the early flowers poking through the ground! I am ready to shed my winter ways and get ready for spring.
What does “getting ready for spring” mean?
Many people do a thorough cleaning of their homes at this time of the year. Whether it starts in your kitchen for Passover or is simply an annual tradition, who doesn’t love the results? Just being able to open the windows to get some fresh air into our homes is an impetus to get going with this task. The warm sun and fresh air are a magnetic attraction pulling me outside to get to work in my garden, so I have to find time for both the house and the yard.

Spring cleaning does not end with our exterior worlds. Our bodies need a cleaning, as well, and I am not talking about a bath. Over the long winter, we ate traditional warming foods such as stews, chilis, roasts, hearty soups, etc. In my house, we were eating lots of root vegetables and winter squash, which are available locally all winter long. Now that the spring is here, we are switching our diets to focus on all of the new sprouts and vegetables which will soon be coming on the market. The best way to prepare our bodies for the change in eating habits is to do a whole foods based cleanse. Many people do a cleanse quarterly, at the beginning of each season.
What is a whole foods based cleanse? This cleanse is based on a diet of three healthy meals per day, comprised of the cleanest foods possible: all fresh, nothing processed, predominantly organic, high quality proteins, healthy fats, whole grains.

What else will a cleanse do for you? A cleanse will let your body release toxins that have accumulated just by living a normal life.
Where do these toxins come from? Air and water pollution, processed foods, pesticides, preservatives, internal waste, chemicals in personal care and household cleaning products, food packaging, the list goes on and on. Giving our bodies a break from as much as we can from these sources of toxicity allows them to let go of the poisons.
How will you notice a difference after doing a cleanse? You will have renewed energy, clearer skin, improved focus, vastly reduced or no cravings for sugar and caffeine, no more bloating after meals, better sleep, control over your eating habits, and last but not least, weight loss.
When can you do a spring cleanse? The next Synergy3 Cleanse starts on April 28th, right after Passover and Easter. We all will have most likely eaten way too much sugar by the end of the holidays! This is a two week, whole food based program, not a liquid diet. You will be given all of the information and support you need to cleanse successfully and get your body ready for summer. Doing this as a group is easier and more fun than going it alone.
What about your family? The food on the cleanse is delicious, so everyone can eat it. You will not need to make separate meals.
The Synergy3 Cleanse starts on April 28th.
