According to a recent article, the top MBA programs in the United States continue to cost over $100,000.
The most expensive MBA program, according to Businessweek.com is Harvard at $133,000 with over 1,800 students enrolled. The Wharton School from the University of Pennsylvania is $121,000 with 1,600 students.
The positioning of the top five programs since 2010 has not changed much and all cost over $100,000. The top programs consistently include University of Chicago, Harvard University, University of Pennsylvania, Stanford University, and Northwestern University.
The University of Chicago has regularly been at the top of the list. While an expensive program, 94 percent of graduates receive job offers within three months of graduation and the average salary is $116,302. They are highly selective in their application process, only accepting 21 percent of applicants. The average acceptance across all schools is 46 percent. Top areas of study at the University of Chicago include economics, entrepreneurship, finance, general management, and organizational behavior.
A regular runner-up to the University of Chicago is Harvard University. It is the most expensive school on the list at $133,000. They are also far more selective than the University of Chicago, accepting only 12 percent of applicants. Within three months of graduation 93 percent of graduates are offered positions with an average salary of $120,700. The top areas of study at Harvard University include financial services, consulting, technology, and consumer products.
The least expensive MBA program on the list is the University of Missouri, Columbia at a cost of just over $26,000. It accepts approximately 43 percent of applicants are accepted to the MBA program. Upon graduation, 88 percent of students receive job offers with an average salary of $63,000.
