Two White Plains High Schoolers Win Jandon Scholarships

The foundation encourages promising young students from local low-income families in pursuit of higher education.

From White Plains Middle School: Two White Plains High School seniors were awarded Jandon Scholarships by the Westchester County Board of Legislators in collaboration with the Jandon Foundation. The Foundation encourages promising young students from low-income families in their pursuit of higher education. The students will receive $12,000 each, to be awarded throughout the course of their four-year college careers.

Winners are Yaqueline Flores, who will attend Mercy College, and Carolyn Ramos who will attend SUNY/New Paltz. These awards are made to academic achievers who meet financial eligibility guidelines established by the Jandon Foundation. Students must have excellent academic records and SAT scores, involvement in extra-curricular activities and show evidence of good character.
