United Way of Westchester and Putnam Awarded $27,000 from Impact100 Westchester

Funding will benefit United Way's efforts to purchase a new extended cargo van to support its Essential Goods program

White Plains, N.Y. (June 2025) – United Way of Westchester and Putnam (UWWP) was awarded $27,000 from Impact100 Westchester during their 2025 grant cycle. The announcement was made Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at the Metropolis Country Club, with many Westchester County nonprofit leaders and stakeholders in attendance.

United Way of Westchester and Putnam is one of two organizations awarded the $27,000 Core Mission Grant, while two other organizations were awarded $85,000 Transformational grants. The proposal, “Transportation for Transformation: Scaling Our Community Reach,” assists United Way’s efforts to purchase a new extended cargo van to support the organization’s delivery of essential good items, through their Essential Goods for Basic Needs Program, to their nonprofit partners who in turn, lift-up many of our neighbors living in poverty or paycheck-to-paycheck.

In 2024, United Way of Westchester and Putnam distributed $5.7 million worth of essential goods to 110 schools and nonprofit partners to meet the basic needs of the community they serve. These included new items such as mattresses, bed linens, backpacks, diapers, socks, and so much more.

This year the organization awarded $252,000 for their 2025 Grant Cycle, including two Core Mission Grants, two Transformational Project Grants, and four Boost Awards that focus on smaller nonprofits.
