Unusual Suspects: Cops Allege Street Fight, Couple Feud While Holding Son

A 26-year-old Ohio man is accused of standing in the middle of Mamaroneck Avenue in White Plains, punching a man and being caught with drugs on his possession. He was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a criminal substance, a misdemeanor, unlawful possession of marijuana and disorderly conduct, violations.

Boyfriend and Girlfriend Trade Blows While Holding Child: Police

A couple who in White Plains are accused of getting into an altercation who holding their 8-month-old son, according to police. The woman accused the man of slapping her, pushing her to the ground while she held the infant and swung at her. The woman reported scratching the man in self defense. The man was charged with menacing and endangering the welfare of a child, misdemeanors.

DA: Alleged Serial Rapist Indicted

The Westchester County District Attorney's office announced this past week that an alleged serial rapist was indicted. Silvio Raul Illescas, a 40-year-old Elmsford man, was charged with a total of 28 counts, eight of which are for "predatory sexual assault." Illescas is accused of four violent sexual assaults in the county, specifically in Tarrytown, Greenburgh and Yonkers. He was arrested in early March 6 after being alleged to have stabbed and attempting a rape of an escort woman at the DoubleTree Hotel in Tarrytown.

Dead Deer Found at Cemetery Gates

Sleepy Hollow police discovered a dead dear at the gates of Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, in response to a call. The deer appears to have died of natural causes.

Police: New City Woman Found Asleep at the Wheel Charged with DWI

The Rockland County Sheriff's Department reports that a 55-year-old New City woman was found asleep behind the wheel of her vehicle while parked on a roadway in West Nyack. The woman was charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI), a misdemeanor, and is due in Clarkstown town court on April 29.

White Plains-Based State Police Unit Makes Big Drug Bust

The New York State Police Special Investigations Unit, which is based in White Plains, made a drug bust in connection with an investigation. Three men were arrested: a 34 year old from Reading, PA, a 37 year old from Brooklyn and a 39 year old from Danbury, CT. The three were arrested in the Bronx and discovered with three kilograms of heroin, police claimed. A residence in Queens was then searched by police, with 1.5 kilograms of heroin, four kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, assorted drug paraphernalia and a loaded 9mm handgun among the items discovered. The men were each charged with five drug-related charges and two weapons-related charges.

New York State Police from the Southeast Barracks report finding a 21-year-old Pound Ridge woman with a stun gun and switchblades while making a stop at the intersection of Sodom Road and Route 22 in Southeast. The woman was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, misdemeanors, and a count of unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

A caller in Mount Kisco reported that a person in a white van was driving onto a lawn. The man, a 30-year-old White Plains resident, was found, arrested and charged with DWI.

White Plains police arrested a 22-year-old Bronxville man after he allegedly pounded on the door of Porter House Bar at about 3:30 a.m. last Sunday while drunk. The man is alleged to have continued pounding after police told him to leave. He was charged with disorderly conduct, which is a violation, and was held in jail for the night due to his condition, police said.

A 65-year-old woman from White Plains is accused of attempting to steal eight pieces of lingerie, three pairs of pajama pants and seven pairs of socks from a local Macy's; the total value of the items was $438.92. The woman was arrested and charged with petty larceny, which is a misdemeanor.
