WDOM To Commemorate the Americans with Disabilities Act

Westchester Disabled on the Move to celebrate the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act with two events.

Westchester Disabled on the Move will be celebrating the annviersary of the Americans with Disabilities Act being signed into law with two events in Westchester County. This legislation passed in 1990, was a watershed moment with far reaching effects on the status of Americans with disabilities.

On Thursday, July 26th at 11am, New York State Senator Shelley Mayer will be leading an American with Disabilities Act Commemoration Ceremony at Crawford Park located in Rye Brook, NY.

The New York Liberty of the WNBA will be holding a Health and Fitness Day at 3pm on Saturday, August 4th at the Westchester County Center in White Plains, NY. The day will include free ADA information, free t-shirt giveaways, a halftime keynote speaker, health information, BMI counters, massage chairs, and a primetime Zumba performance on the court. For each ticket that is purchased for the Health and Fitness Day, five dollars will be going towards Westchester Disabled on the Move.
