Westchester County to Hold Public Hearing on Proposed Bee-Line Fare Increases

Comments can be provided in writing at the hearing, by email or by mail.

WHITE PLAINS, NY — The Metropolitan Transportation Authority has proposed increasing fares for the Bee-Line System and the student MetroCard.

The Westchester County Department of Public Works and Transportation will hold a public hearing from 6 p.m to 9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 23.

The session will take place at the Westchester County Center in White Plains.

All attendees will be given an opportunity to speak. People who wish to provide comments in writing may do so at the hearing, email them or mail them to the Westchester County Department of Public Works and Transportation, 100 E. 1st St., Mount Vernon, NY 10550. Written comments must be received by the close of business Jan. 25.

The proposed changes are as follows:

  • Senior Citizen and Disabled Reduced Fares would be slightly less than half of the Base Fare under Proposal 1 and would remain at half of the Base Fare under Proposal 2.
  • There will be no fare changes on the Bee-Line BxM4C (Westchester-Manhattan Express).
  • The student MetroCard cost is proposed to increase to $60, from the current $58 based on the MTA fare increase.

The county center is located at 198 Central Ave. and is an accessible building.
