Westchester Investigating Suicide At County Jail

VALHALLA, NY — Correction officials in Westchester County are investigating an apparent suicide of an inmate at the Westchester County Jail Tuesday. It is the second apparent suicide by an inmate since May.

Officials said Milton McNicholas, 55, of Hastings-on-Hudson was being held without bail on an alleged probation violation when he died, according to the Journal News.

Deaths in custody are investigated by the county Department of Correction, county police and the state Commission of Correction per standard protocol.
