The Netflix drama “The Irishman,” which follows the career of mob hitman Frank Sheeran and his relationship with union boss Jimmy Hoffa, racked up five nominations, including Best Motion Picture, Best Performance by an Actor for Al Pacino and Joe Pesci, Best Director for Martin Scorsese and Best Screenplay for Steven Zaillian. Westchester filming locations include the City of White Plains, V.E. Macy Park in Irvington and City Hall in Yonkers, among others.
This year’s nominees also include the FX limited series “Fosse/Verdon,” about the creative partnership between choreographer Bob Fosse and actress and dancer Gwen Verdon, which filmed scenes at the Performing Arts Center, Purchase College, among other locations; and “Mr. Robot” — a thriller about a young computer programmer who works as a cybersecurity engineer by day and a vigilante hacker by night.
