Westchester Past Flattening Curve For Active Cases Of Virus
The county executive said said the number of deaths per night continues to decrease.
WHITE PLAINS, NY — The number of active new coronavirus cases in Westchester County continues to drop. County Executive George Latimer said Monday during his daily new conference that there are 30,097 confirmed positive cases of the virus to date.
He said 24,000 of those individuals have gone beyond the 14- day quarantine period and are no longer considered to be infected.
That leave 5,791 active cases in the county.

"That number is continually dropping," Latimer said, adding that the county is approaching a 50 percent drop in the number of active cases.

"Clearly we are past the point of flattening the curve in the county," he said. "We are now on the down side of the bell curve."
The number of hospitalizations is now 664, down from a month ago when it was as many as 1,200.
There have been 1,101 deaths to date in Westchester County.
Without trying to minimize the tragedy, Latimer said the number of deaths per night continues to decrease.
