Westchester, Putnam, Rockland Catholic Schools Move 'Touring Tuesday' to Feb. 3

Usually held during Catholic Schools Week, the universal open house for Catholic elementary schools in Westchester, Putnam and Rockland counties will be held next week instead, from 9-11 a.m. Feb. 3.

“Touring Tuesday” was postponed due to the snowstorm of Jan. 26-27.

Reservations are required and can be made online at www.buildboldfutures.org or by calling a bilingual hotline, 646-794-2885.

Elementary schools throughout the Archdiocese of New York will host an archdiocesan-wide open house event, “TOURING TUESDAY,” from 9 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 3. These universal open houses are scheduled throughout the school year and are designed to introduce prospective families to the life-long benefits and value of a Catholic education.

“TOURING TUESDAYS” offer an exciting way to see Catholic schools in action, and provide families with an opportunity to learn about the admissions process and meet with principals, faculty, other parents and students from Pre-K through Grade 8.

Last year’s open houses were incredibly successful, resulting in more than 1,200 new students enrolled throughout the archdiocese. The upcoming “TOURING TUESDAY” open houses are expected to be well-attended, with 140 elementary schools participating throughout the archdiocese.

“We welcome families to take part and to see how our values-based curriculum can benefit children academically during their school careers well into college and beyond,” said Dr. Timothy J. McNiff, Superintendent of Schools for the Archdiocese of New York. “TOURING TUESDAYS provide a great opportunity to see how our well-rounded education and nurturing school communities help children succeed.”

Reservations are required and can be made online at www.buildboldfutures.org or by calling a bilingual hotline, 646-794-2885. For those who cannot attend, school tours can also be arranged by appointment by calling the hotline or making a reservation online.
