Westchester's Bee-Line Buses To Restart Fare Collection
All buses are now outfitted with protective barriers around their drivers.

WHITE PLAINS, NY — Be prepared to pay your "fare" share when taken the Bee-Line bus in Westchester County soon. The bus system will resume standard operation Sept. 8, according to Westchester County Executive George Latimer.
At a news conference Monday, Latimer said fares will be collected as of Sept. 8, which will effectively end the new coronavirus response phase where customers were not charged to ride. That began March 23.
Additionally, all buses are now outfitted with protective barriers that provide floor-to-ceiling plastic sheeting around bus operators.

Latimer said the county will continue to do everything to ensure safety on the Bee-Line for the passengers and the drivers.
"With protective driver shields being installed on the entire fleet of 325 buses," he said, "we are confident that we can safely bring back front door boarding and return the system to a more normal operation."

The system resumed full service June 15, and all routes are currently operating on normal schedules.
Riders are reminded to continue using safe practices to help stop the spread of the virus. All passengers are required to wear a face covering upon entering the bus and must keep it on, covering their nose and mouth, for the duration of their trip. Whenever possible, riders are encouraged to distance themselves and keep 6 feet away from other passengers.
