Wet Weekend Likely in White Plains: But What Kind?

Here are details on a still-cold forecast for White Plains.

WHITE PLAINS, NY — The weather in the Hudson Valley the first week of spring hasn’t been a great one. Bitter cold for the past two days, lows in the teens, and as we head into the weekend there is a mini-warmup but also the chance of mixed precipitation in northern parts of the Hudson Valley.

"That is due to an approaching warm front, that will trigger some light snow and sleet showers out in front of it," said Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather.

But not for southern Westchester County where any precipitation that falls will stay completely liquid.

Next, we could see rain plus fog on Saturday and Sunday. If you are traveling out of southern Westchester, you could be faced with a wintry mix in the northern parts of the Hudson Valley.

The next chance to see the sun for a sustained period of time isn’t until late next week.
