White Plains Councilwoman to Run for Mayor

She has been on the common council since 2008.

WHITE PLAINS, NY — Milagros Lecuona, a Democratic member of the White Plains Common Council, is running for mayor.

She will make her official announcement to challenge Mayor Thomas Roach at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Westchester County Democrats headquaters, 170 E. Post Rd., the Journal News said.

According to her biography on the White Plains city website, Lecuona has degrees in architecture and urban planning.

She has been a member of the Westchester County Planning Board and is currently chairwoman of the White Plains Sustainability Committee.

Lecuona has been a councilwoman in the city since 2008.
