White Plains DMV Changes Mind About New Location
There were concerns about safety and parking in a potential move from the White Plains Mall to a nearby office building.

WHITE PLAINS, NY — With the White Plains Mall set to be torn down to make way for a mixed-use building, the Department of Motor Vehicles, which located in the mall, is looking for a new home. Where it will not be moving is a multi-story office building at 3 Barker Ave.
A second public hearing regarding the application, which was scheduled Aug. 5, didn't take place because the application was withdrawn, the Journal News reported.
Opponents of the move, which includes a nonprofit in the building that serves domestic violence and human trafficking survivors, were concerned having the DMV in their building could be detrimental to their clientele.
