White Plains Educator Celebrated For Impact In And Out Of The Classroom

White Plains, New York — Behind every thriving student is someone who believed in them. To celebrate these mentors, Patch has partnered with T-Mobile to spotlight the educators, coaches and role models supporting the next generation.

How have they made an impact?

Tino is an elementary physical education teacher at MAS in White Plains and is currently completing his third year. In addition to his core teaching responsibilities, he has successfully organized several new family-oriented events that have quickly become valued traditions within the school community. Outside of MAS, Tino is actively involved in coaching golf and wrestling in White Plains.

As a graduate of the White Plains school system, he brings a unique and personal perspective to understanding the needs of his students. Recognizing a gap in opportunities for younger students interested in wrestling, he co-founded the nonprofit organization Westchester Wrestling to provide access to the sport prior to high school. Further demonstrating his commitment to education, Tino also serves as a part-time adjunct professor at Manhattanville University, where he teaches courses for aspiring educators. Most importantly, he is pursuing his passion for teaching, and doing so in his hometown makes it especially meaningful.
