White Plains Hospital to Host Day of Screenings on Sat. April 27
42nd Annual Neighborhood Health Fair at Calvary Baptist Church; See, Test & Treat® Program at White Plains Hospital Family Health Center

White Plains Hospital is partnering with local community groups as well as joining a national initiative, both with the goal of enhancing access to valuable health resources this Saturday, April 27th through a full day of health education, disease awareness, prevention and screenings in White Plains.
In partnership with the Thomas H. Slater Center, El Centro Hispano and Calvary Baptist Church, White Plains Hospital will proudly host its 42nd annual Neighborhood Health Fair on Saturday, April 27th from 8:30AM to 2PM. The Health Fair is an annual tradition in the White Plains community, and over the last 12 years alone has served more than 5,500 individuals with essential resources for preventative, routine and specialized medical care.
For the second consecutive year, the health fair will be held at the Calvary Baptist Church at 188 Orawaupum Street in White Plains. The fair is free of charge and open to adults of all ages. Screenings for diabetes, high blood pressure, hearing screening, HIV testing, stroke prevention, dental exams, foot care, BMI & nutrition information, breastfeeding, and mental health will be offered. Lab testing will also be available for cholesterol, sickle cell disease, and prostate/PSA screening. Medical experts will be on hand, along with Spanish and French Creole-speaking support staff, to provide disease education and answer health-related questions.

Also being offered on Saturday, April 27th are screenings for breast and cervical cancers provided through the See, Test & Treat® program, an initiative backed by a 2017 grant from the College of American Pathologists (CAP) Foundation. The program serves women in need, providing them with a free pap test with same-day results, breast exam, and a screening mammogram for those who qualify with prompt results. See, Test & Treat® screenings will be provided at the Family Health Center, at 41 East Post Road, White Plains, adjacent to the main Hospital.
Kathryn Siao, MD, Director of Pre-Surgical Testing at White Plains Hospital and Medical Director of the Neighborhood Health Fair, commented, “We hope and encourage members of our community to take advantage of this valuable opportunity to receive important information and free screenings that are vital in preventing disease and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.” She continued, “Both the Neighborhood Health Fair and the See, Test & Treat® programs will connect community members with critical screenings for a multitude of health issues, at no cost.”
