White Plains' Hot and Humid Work Week Forecast

After a rather overcast and rainy weekend at times, the sun returned on Monday—of course.

Monday and Tuesday appear to be almost perfect weather days, and then in the middle of the week the thermometer spikes as we head toward 90 degrees.

There is a chance of some showers and/or storms Wednesday night into Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather said the start of the week will be "a rather beautiful mid-July day."

"Expect sunshine along with a few fair weather clouds to kick off the week… with low humidity levels, and seasonable highs in the low 80s," he said. "We’ll have a couple nice days (Monday and Tuesday)… before we’ll see the humidity really begin to spike on Wednesday."

The weekend looks OK as of right now. There's a chance of showers and storms on Saturday, with sunshine on Sunday with temps in the mid to upper 80s on both days.

Here is the forecast for southern Westchester County from the National Weather Service:

  • Today: Sunny, with a high near 80. North wind 6 to 8 mph.
  • Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 63. Light and variable wind.
  • Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 83. South wind 5 to 10 mph.
  • Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 65. South wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm after midnight.
  • Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 87. Light and variable wind becoming south 5 to 8 mph in the morning.
  • Wednesday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 70.
  • Thursday: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 88. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
  • Thursday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 74.
  • Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 93.
  • Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 70.
