White Plains League of Women Voters goes all out to increase voting participation

The League of Women Voters of White Plains and our partners were out on National Voter Registration Day and the two Sundays before. All tolled we registered 296 voters and 40 organ donors during this period. And we had 38 volunteers. Add to that the registrations we collected during the White Plains Independence Day Celebration and the total is 305 new voters. Added to that we registered 207 voters during our Vote 18 drive at Whit Plains High School for a grand total of 512!! This photo shows our efforts on the digital billboards located at the 15 public parking garages around White Plains. By simply putting their address on the web site Vote411.org voters can get all the information they need. They can build their own personal ballot, compare candidates positions side-by-side, and print out a ballot they can take to the polls on election day.
