White Plains Man Accused Of Illegal Drug Possession

He was initially stopped for a traffic violation, police said.

PLEASANT VALLEY, NY — A White Plains man was accused of having illegal drugs while driving on the Taconic State Parkway.

The New York State Police said Travis M. Campbell, 35, of White Plains, was charged Wednesday with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, felonies.

Troopers said, around 6:30 p.m., they stopped a 2001 Honda Accord for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law on the Taconic in the town of Pleasant Valley.

The investigation found Campbell had about 33.3 grams of cocaine and was planning to sell it, police said.

He was arraigned in the Town of Pleasant Valley Court and released on his own recognizance to reappear in court Sept. 21.
