White Plains May See Some Rain This Week

WHITE PLAINS, NY — The Hudson Valley hasn’t seen a forecast like this one in a while.

We might see rain fall during a five-day period of time beginning Monday night, according to the National Weather Service.

Now don’t let me overstate that; no one is talking about five days of straight downpours or anything like that. But right now there's a slight chance of rain at some point each day. The best is right at the beginning of the week, 90 percent for Monday night, and then building again at the end of the week.

The clouds will bring something else with them — smaller temperature swings after midweek. Tuesday and Wednesday are the only days when high temps will get into the 70s, with an overnight low in between in the 50s. Thursday and Friday, the highs and lows will only swing about 10 degrees.

• Tuesday: Showers likely, mainly before 8am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 76. West wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
• Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 54. Southwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.
• Wednesday: A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 73. North wind 6 to 9 mph becoming east in the afternoon.
• Wednesday Night: A 50 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 57.
• Thursday: A 50 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 69.
• Thursday Night: A 50 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 58.
• Friday: A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 69.
• Friday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 56.
