White Plains Middle Schooler Brings Home Chess Trophy

WHITE PLAINS, NY — A White Plains 11-year-old took home a trophy recently during a chess championship in New York City.

Daniel Hagen, who attends Eastview Middle School, won second place in the Tri-State Chess Championship held July 17 at Bryant Park.

Tri-State Chess is an organization that promotes the game, especially on the scholastic level, according to information on its website.
