Niche.com, a rankings and review site, has compiled its list of “2016 Best Public High Schools in New York.”
These rankings are based on state test scores, college readiness, graduation rates, SAT/ACT scores, teacher quality, student and parent reviews, and more.

Niche.com compiled a nationwide list of all high schools, and 11 New York schools are in the top 50, including No. 19 Rye High School, No. 40 Chappaqua’s Horace Greeley High School, No. 46 Scarsdale High School and No. 50 Blind Brook High School in Rye Brook.
According to Niche.com, the top 5 public high schools nationwide are: No. 1. Stuyvesant High School in Manhattan, N.Y., No. 2 High Technology High School in Lincroft, N.J., No. 3. Staten Island Technical High School in Staten Island, N.Y., No. 4. Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Virginia, and No. 5 Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Illinois.

White Plains HIgh School was ranked No. 44 in the state and No. 252 nationwide.
Sleepy Hollow HIgh School was ranked No. 81 in New York and 588 nationwide.
Briarcliff High School was ranked No. 37 in the state and No. 184 in the nation. Pleasantville High School came in at 140th in the state and 1,124th in the United States. Click on each school’s name to see the full ranking data.
Besides coming in at No. 40 nationwide, Horace Greeley High School ranked No. 9 in the state. Fox Lane High School in Bedford came in 42nd in New York and 246th in the United States. Click on each high school’s name to see the complete ranking.
Somers Senior High School in Lincolndale was 86th in the state and 621st in the United States, while Yorktown High School in Yorktown Heights came in at No. 87 statewide and No. 623 in the nation. Lakeland High School in Shrub Oak was 115th statewide; 881st nationally. Coming in at No. 153 in the state and No. 1,276 in the nation was Walter Panas High School in Cortlandt Manor
