White Plains Planning Commissioner Elizabeth Cheteny Fired by City

Cheteny came to White Plains from the Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo.

Planning Commissioner Elizabeth Cheteny, who had been in the post for less than three years, was fired by White Plains officials this week.

Details of the circumstances surrounding the firing have not been disclosed. Following the City Council meeting Thursday where officials unanimously approved the dismissal, Mayor Thomas Roach told The Journal News that the city wanted “to go in a different direction.”

Cheteny, who has planning experience in her background, came to White Plains from the Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo where she was an environmental program manager.
