Updated: White Plains Police Respond To Shooting On Lake Street

A shooting occurred Friday near Lake Street and the corner of North Kensico Avenue in White Plains.

A shooting occurred Friday near Lake Street and the corner of North Kensico Avenue in White Plains. Early reports say a young man was shot three times in Delfino Park, which is parallel to Lake Street, around 4 p.m. on Friday.

So far, there are two persons of interest that police are currently looking for.

“Our detectives are working very diligently to locate these people,” said Commissioner of Public Safety David Chong.

Chong states that units responded immediately to reports of shots being fired in Delfino Park, situated behind string auto body shops near 94 Lake Street. Westchester County Police also assisted in the search by deploying a helicopter unit. A motive for the shooting is still unknown.

“We have not been able to interview the victim [yet],” said Chong.

The victim, who authorities have not identified, remains at Westchester Medical Center in critical condition.

Local residents and pedestrians loitered around the area Friday afternoon as police vehicles continued to arrive at the scene.
