White Plains Postpones Independence Day Celebration, Fireworks
The weather forecast is calling for the possibility of heavy rain Friday.

White Plains, NY — Because the forecast for Friday showers and thunderstorms, as well as the possibility of gusty winds and heavy rain, White Plains has postponed its Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks.
The new date is Wednesday, July 6 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at White Plains High School.

“Unfortunately, these are not optimal conditions for fireworks nor for an outdoor celebration,” Karen M. Pasquale, senior advisor to the mayor, said. “So while we are disappointed to have to postpone, we hope that residents will be able to join us on the rain date.”
