White Plains To Vote On Budget

The $218.6 million budget is 2.08 percent more than the current year's.

WHITE PLAINS, NY — Voters in the White Plains school district will be going to the polls Tuesday, May 15 to approve the budget for the 2018-19 school year and to elect board trustees. The $218.6 million budget is 2.08 percent more than the current year. The tax levy increase is 3.42 percent, with an estimated tax rate increase of 2.88 percent.

Three candidates have filed petitions for election to the White Plains Board of Education in the upcoming vote. All three incumbents filed petitions. In the order they will appear on the ballot, they are James Hricay, Cayne Letizia and Rose Lovitch. The vote will be for three-year terms, ending June 30, 2021.

Polls will be open at the regular voting locations from noon to 9 p.m. May 15.
