White Plains Students Compete In Tri-County Science Fair

More than 300 students from Westchester, Rockland and Putnam presented their projects to judges.

WHITE PLAINS, NY — This past weekend White Plains High School hosted the 25th Annual Tri-County Science Fair, the only K-12 Science Fair in Westchester County. On Saturday, more than 300 students from Westchester, Rockland and Putnam counties presented their poster board projects to several judges.

In the high school division, 12 White Plains science research students competed with more than 140 other students in several different categories. White Plains Senior Kelly Marx placed third in the Physiological/Experimental Psychology category for her study titled "Neurological Results in Children, Teenagers and Young Adults with High Risk Sickle Cell Disease Who Have Received a Familial Haploidentical Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplantation."

Twelve other students, all juniors, also presented their research projects at the fair.

White Plains High School Science Research Program will hold its Annual Science Research & Engineering Symposium from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday May 22 in the White Plains High School Media Center.
