White Plains' Weather: Halloween and Beyond

WHITE PLAINS, NY — It will be unseasonably cold on Halloween, so consider tights, long johns or pajamas under those costumes if you're going around the neighborhood!

Temperatures will rise at midweek closer to the crazy unseasonable warmth of Sunday, but then they'll drop back down to something forecasters are describing as "seasonable." And by the end of the work week, we'll have stormy weather. Look for rain and even some thunderstorms.

"The theme overall this week will be seasonable temps, with a few pieces of energy swinging in and helping to keep temps on a bit of a seesaw as we get through midweek," said Alex Marra of Hudson Valley Weather.

Here's the five-day forecast from the National Weather Service for southern Westchester County:

• Today: Sunny, with a high near 54. Northwest wind 11 to 16 mph.
• Tonight: Areas of frost after 1am. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 35. North wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the evening.
• Tuesday: Areas of frost before 9am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 56. Calm wind becoming southeast around 5 mph in the afternoon.
• Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 47. Southwest wind 3 to 6 mph.
• Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 65. Southwest wind 3 to 7 mph.
• Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 53.
• Thursday: A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 69.
• Thursday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 46.
• Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 54.
• Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 39.
