Wintry Mix May Lead to Slippery Commutes: White Plains Weather
A mix of snow, sleet and possibly rain may cause some slick spots in White Plains. We have details on the timing.

WHITE PLAINS, NY — Some very light snow and sleet, possibly mixed with rain, may be falling during the commute home tonight and at the beginning of the morning commute tomorrow.
In no way is this a big deal as no real accumulation is forecast, but because of how cold it’s been any precipitation that falls could cause some slick spots, said Chris Cimino of NBC4 New York.
Plus, strong winds are possible tonight into early Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service, which in fact has issued a Gale Warning for the western Long Island Sound.

The passage of a frontal system Wednesday morning will end the rain from west to east, and bring an end to the gusty winds. The other good news is that after tonight, we see a significant warm up with temps into the mid 40s and 50s on Wednesday and Thursday.
"The cold has been impressive and sharp," said Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather. "High temperatures haven’t hit 25° since Friday. But today the cold begins to lose the battle, as a warm SW wind will increase later today, and usher in some warmer air. Before that happens, we have some weather to contend with…"
