WJCS Seeks Part-Time Home Visitors for The Parent-Child Home Program
Program supports parents as their children's first teachers and promotes school readiness for toddlers

The WJCS Parent-Child Home Program (PCHP) currently is
recruiting part-time staff to work in the home visitor program, which supports
parents as their children’s first teachers and promotes school readiness for
toddlers. Home visitors are needed to serve eligible families in White Plains,
Port Chester, New Rochelle, Greenburgh, Mamaroneck and Mount Vernon.
In the comfort of each family’s home, parent, child and home visitor
participate in fun, stimulating activities using specially selected books and
toys in twice weekly 30-minute home visits.
The home
visitor program requires a minimum commitment of nine hours per week. Home
visitors receive compensation for their work. They do not need to
have a special educational background, but must have a personality suited to
home visiting and enjoy working with parents and toddlers.
The PCHP runs from October to May, following the school calendar. Successful candidates will receive training three mornings in September (dates to be confirmed) in the WJCS Hartsdale office. Although home visitors’ hours are flexible, attendance is required at weekly staff/training meetings held on Wednesday mornings throughout the school year in the WJCS Hartsdale office.
