Woman's Club Celebrates the Holidays
ongoing charitable works at the Woman's Club for the Holidays

Even though it surpassed its goal of 100 Acts of Kindness for its centennial celebration last month, the Woman’s Club of White Plains has continued its charitable activities in the community.
A Holiday Boutique and Dinner at the Club was attended by over 100 guests and vendors. Guests were treated to a delicious buffet dinner catered by Caperberry Events and also got in some holiday shopping. The vendors showcased a variety of gifts ranging including ornaments, candles, clothing, jewelry, specialty foods and the White Plains Thrift Shop was a treasure trove of holiday decorations as well as great buys on clothing. Proceeds from the event were donated to Lifting Up Westchester.
A toy drive was also held at the Holiday dinner. Toys for children of all ages were collected for needy families in White Plains. Sheila Foley from the White Plains Youth Bureau said “Please tell everyone at the Woman's Club how appreciative we are of all the gifts!! They came at a critical time when we were running low on gifts to match up with families. They are perfect. Thank you to everyone.”

The Salvation Army was also the recipient of the Woman’s Club’s generosity. Members of the club rang the bell at the Westchester Mall, encouraging donations from the holiday shoppers. Club members were thankful to all those who donated to this worthy cause.
Finally, the Woman’s Club revived an old tradition, that of Christmas caroling in the streets of White Plains. Club members and friends visited the local neighborhood and did their best to bring holiday cheer. They were warmly received and the neighbors pleasantly surprised by the carolers at their doors.
