Woman's Club of White Plains Hold Blood Drive
A blood drive to benefit White Plains Hospital held at the Woman's Club
The Woman’s Club of White Plains completed another of its “100 Acts of Kindness” on Saturday February 27 when it held a Blood Drive for the benefit of the White Plains Hospital Center. The Club has long been a supporter of White Plains Hospital and historically has sponsored activities to support the health and well-being of the community at large. It has held blood drives in the past and has been involved with the American Red Cross as well through the years.
Jean Bello, Woman’s Club member and coordinator of the blood drive, said “We are very grateful to the brave souls who came to donate and for the volunteers who helped with registration.” Mayor Tom Roach was also on hand to support the blood drive and even tweeted a picture of himself to encourage others to come out to donate.
White Plains Hospital nurse Jodie Caputo-Creed said the blood from the drive would be on the hospital shelves as of Tuesday, March 1, and probably used within the week. Accompanying Ms. Caputo-Creed were technicians Ricardo Azabache, Chris Crespo and Sherman Samuels.
