YWCA White Plains & Central Westchester Awards 16 Scholarships

New York State Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins, New York State Senator Shelley Mayer, and Kitley Covill, Westchester County Legislator, were among the elected officials congratulating the recipients as well as Rossana Rosado, New York Secretary of State, who keynoted the event. The students, representing a broad swath of the county, will be pursuing bachelors and graduate degrees at universities locally and across the U.S.

The scholarships are administered through the YWCA’s Women’s Research and Education Fund (WREF) and are intended to provide financial support to women in Westchester who are committed to making lasting change in their community and hoping to use their college experience to impact the world around them.
