85-Year-Old Man Killed In Williamsburg Hit-And-Run: Police

The driver was in a white box truck and fled the scene after fatally striking the elderly man, cops said.

WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN — An 85-year-old man was fatally struck by a man driving a white box truck on Lorimer and Grand streets in Williamsburg on Monday afternoon, cops said. The driver fled the scene after he hit the man, police said. The incident occurred at a little after 1 p.m. in front of 584 Grand St., according to police and FDNY.

The elderly man was transported by emergency responders to Bellevue Hospital in very serious condition, according to the FDNY. He was pronounced deceased at the hospital, the NYPD said.

There have been no arrests, and the investigation is ongoing by the NYPD's Collision Squad, the NYPD spokesperson said. The name of the victim has yet to be released.
