BROOKLYN, NY — Bavarian tradition is returning to the East River this fall as Zum Schneider brings its Oktoberfest celebration, "Munich on the East River," back to Franklin Point in Greenpoint.
Following a successful debut in 2025, the longtime New York City institution will take over the waterfront destination from September 25 through October 4, transforming the site into a traditional Bavarian Wiesn beer hall and rooftop Biergarten.
The 2026 Oktoberfest will feature one-liter Masskrüge filled with German beers including Paulaner, Weihenstephaner, Schneider Weisse and HB Traunstein. Non-alcoholic German beer, wine, cider, Aperol Spritz and soft drinks will also be available.
The food lineup will spotlight Bavarian staples such as roasted pork shank (Haxn), rotisserie chicken (Wiesn Hendl), Obazda cheese spread, giant imported pretzels, traditional sausages and other Oktoberfest favorites.
Live music will come from Mösl Franzi & the JaJaJas, with traditional Bavarian tunes and Oktoberfest singalongs accompanying servers dressed in Lederhosen and Dirndls, communal tables and festive décor. Guests can also take part in Wiesn games such as Dosenwerfen and visit a themed photo booth.
"Last year proved that Franklin Point is a wonderful home for Munich on the East River," Zum Schneider founder Sylvester Schneider said.
