If you read the movie ads in the subway, you might have noticed a poster for CROPSEY, a documentary by Barbara Brancaccio and Joshua Zeman about a Staten Island legend. Barbara is indeed the sister of Joe, the chef/owner of Brancaccio's Foods, purveyor of awesome prepared Italian food to go on Ft. Hamilton Parkway.
A Tribeca Film Festival award winning film, it premiered last week to good reviews from the New York Times, Time Out and The New Yorker, among others, and is currently playing at the IFC Center in Manhattan.
Our man about town, Joe, attended last Friday's premier, but has no pix to prove it. (Here is Barbara in Joe's kitchen on Fort Hamilton Parkway, helping out along with their mom. )
