5 Things: Sandy Relief Bash at Freddy's

What you need to know, pre-coffee.

1. Help Sandy Survivors (and have fun doing it). Head to the South Slope for Shred-Pop for Sandy! Donations for Sandy Relief will be accepted at the multi-performer show, which includes Bitter Valentines, Jussy (shred-pop), Indaze, Bulletproof Tongue and Dim Wisdim. Freddy's Bar, 627 5th Ave., 8 p.m., No cover.

2. Plant some bulbs. Head on over to Greenwood Playground between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. for a morning of planting daffodil bulbs. Planting will take place near the subway entrance at Ft. Hamilton Parkway. Bring gloves and tools if you have them.

3. Hit the GreenMarket. The Grand Army Plaza farmers market will be open today, so get your apples and winter squash while enjoying the fall weather. While you're there, cross over to the Soldiers and Sailors Arch for Food Trucks at the Arch

4. Try something new. At Prospect Park today there is Introduction to Birdwatching from 12 to 1:30 p.m. Meet at the Audubon Center near the Lincoln Road entrance.

5. See the fall foliage. Despite two storms and the late date, there's still some gorgeous color left, so head to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden Tour, where you can also learn some interesting tidbits about the plants your seeing. Brooklyn Botanic Garden, 990 Washington Avenue, 1 p.m. Free with admission of $10 adults, $5 kids 12 and over, seniors and students with ID.
