66 Pct Commander: O.B.Laden's Death Ends a Chapter
Deputy Inspector John Sprague, of the 66 Precinct, was among the first 9/11 responders at the World Trade Center. When the first plane crashed into the tower he was on duty in Staten Island. By the time the second plane hit, he was at WTC, less than 30 minutes later. He spent the next 3 and half weeks working on its recovery.
Commander Sprague lost a cousin and several friends at WTC. His sister worked there. For him, Osama Bin Laden’s death, “closes a chapter in a very long battle in the war against terrorism, both symbolic and substantive. Especially," he said, “for people who were there that day."
