A Night Out at the 66th Precinct, Aug 3

A Night Out at the 66th Precinct, Aug 3

The neighbors from Boro Park were there. Councilmen Brad Lander, David Greenfield, and community board members were there. The police from the 66th, of course, as the hosts of this “meet and greet,” were there in droves:  from patrol people to the Commanding Officer, D.I. John Sprague. The occasion was the annual National Night Out Against Crime, sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch and held annually at police precincts across the country. At its two-block party on 16th Avenue off 60th Street, the 66th featured a well-attended kiddie ride; hot dogs and hamburgers from the police parking lot grill;  info from City of New York, the Brooklyn Public Library, and the Chinese-American Association; and lots of schmoozing. A smattering of people from outlying areas of the 66th also came. For three hours, they all reveled in the warm summer night.
