Neighbor News

A sharing-goods group has been set up for the Windsor Terrace Kensington community!

Neighborgoods is about sharing and making more accessible all the stuff we own or the talents and skills we have—rather than buying everything. It’s about sharing goods and services without trying to make money. The goals are to buy less stuff to help the environment, save money and space, have access to a wider variety of goods and services, and build community.

The sharing group is called “Windsor Terrace Kensington” and is on NeighborGoods (neighborgoods.net), a site that facilitates sharing of goods at no cost to individuals or the group. If enough people join, list their goods, and use the service, we can create a real local sharing economy.

Neighborgoods.net has the online tools to help you share anything that’s portable but which you don’t use very much, don’t need anymore, and don’t mind sharing, such as kitchen appliances, party/event supplies, games, outdoor and sports equipment, tools, clothing and toys, and just about anything else you can think of.

You can join and share as an individual or as a group member. Go to Neighborgoods.net, register, then go to “Groups” to request to join the “Windsor Terrace Kensington” group.

Now is a great time to join, with spring (we hope!) approaching, gardens to be planted and lawns to be mowed, block parties happening, and people needing items for vacations (such as tents, sleeping bags, etc). So check out the neighborgoods.net site and consider signing up.
