BROOKLYN, NY — The New York Transit Museum's fall Nostalgia Rides will offer New Yorkers a chance to explore the city aboard vintage subway trains, with excursions planned to Green-Wood Cemetery and the long-closed Old South Ferry station.
The season begins Saturday, Oct. 3, at 2 p.m. with a ride aboard the Museum's 1930s IND R1/9 cars. Departing from the 96 St–2 Av station in Manhattan, the train will travel to Brooklyn for an afternoon at Green-Wood Cemetery, where guests can take part in a guided tour highlighting notable people buried at the cemetery. Guests may also bring a picnic.
On Saturday, Nov. 7, rides at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. will feature the Museum's Redbird subway cars, which were in service from 1959 to 2003. The round-trip excursion will begin and end at the historic Old South Ferry station, which opened in 1905 and has been closed to the public since 2017.
The 90- to 100-minute trip will travel to the Bronx and through an MTA maintenance yard before returning downtown.

Proceeds support the Museum's exhibits, educational programs and maintenance of its vintage subway fleet.
